The spiral tube conveyor features a continuous spiral blade welded inside a cylindrical casing, with both the casing and the spiral blade rotating together. The added material, due to centrifugal force and friction, rotates with the casing and is lifted. Under the force of gravity, the material then slides down along the spiral surface, causing it to rotate along with the spiral tube and thus move forward. This is similar to a non-rotating screw moving translationally along a rotating nut, achieving the purpose of conveying materials.

Classification and structural features: (1) The spiral blades of screw conveyors come in three types: solid spiral surface type, belt spiral surface type, and blade spiral surface type. The solid spiral surface is referred to as the S type, with a spiral pitch for the GX model being 0.8 times the blade diameter. The LS type screw conveyor is suitable for conveying powdered and granular materials. The belt spiral surface, also known as the D type, has a spiral pitch equal to the spiral blade diameter and is suitable for conveying powdered and small lump materials. The blade spiral surface is less commonly used, mainly for conveying highly viscous and compressible materials. During conveyance, it simultaneously completes processes such as mixing and blending, with a spiral pitch approximately 1.2 times the blade diameter. (2) The spiral blades of screw conveyors come in two rotation directions: left-hand and right-hand. (3) Types of screw conveyors include horizontal fixed screw conveyors and vertical screw conveyors. The horizontal fixed screw conveyor is the most commonly used type. Vertical screw conveyors are used for short-distance lifting of materials, with a conveying height generally not exceeding 8m. The spiral blades are of the solid surface type and must be fed by a horizontal screw to ensure the necessary feed pressure. (4) For LS and GX type screw conveyors, a reverse spiral segment of 1/2 to 1 turn should be installed at the material discharge end to prevent powder blockage.
